How Can You Fix - Accidentally associated .scr files with Windows Explorer?

Accidentally associated .scr files with Windows Explorer

I accidentally associated .scr (screensaver installers) with Explorer.
As a result, when I try to open one it just starts opening Explorer processes in an infinite loop.
This also caused .scr to disappear from the file types list so the only way to change
the association was through the registry.
Edited that back to what it should be but .scr files are still opening with Explorer.
Needless to say, this is bad and I really need help to fix this.
(.scr files are also script files for AutoCAD which I use for work
and school.)
