My bluetooth adapter stopped working - Microsoft Surface Pro - Windows 8

My bluetooth adapter in not working.  I uninstalled the driver and rebooted.  This did not work.  I turned bluetooth on and off.  I ran the device troubleshooter.  I looked to download a driver from microsoft but I could not find one.  I was leary about
downloading a Marvel driver from another website (softpedia or crashctrl).
