Apparent leftover formatting when pasting data from a text file
I am pasting data from a simple text editor, say notepad, into Excel.
This data is arranged in columns with a unique separator, but it is purely text and the intent is to eventually delimit it. If I open a new excel file and copy the data from this text editor, then select the first column of a new spreadsheet and paste,
it will paste the entire text contents into that first column only (non-delimited).
If however I have previously sorted the data in that first column of the worksheet using text to columns, and then I delete that data and then try to paste the data from the text editor into the same worksheet (column A), it will automatically delimit
it...Some setting is getting leftover from my previous actions and it is automatically getting applied to subsequent data that is pasted into the same worksheet.
I cannot for the life of me figure out what setting that is.
Normally I would say this is OK, but I have created a macro to do the delimiting , and it requires all of the data to be crammed into the first column.
Also, being that I could be working with either a new worksheet or one that I have had open, I would like it to not matter and give me the same results in either case.
I would like to be able to start from a known state, and to me that is raw, non delimited data.

In this method we will try to Boot in Safe mode with Networking and see if the error still persists.
- Search "MSCONFIG" and Open.
- Click on Boot Tab
- Tick Safe Boot in Boot Option
- Select Network.
- Click Apply and OK.
- Reboot your System.
