Battery icon not working properly

hi, currently have windows 8.1 on asus vivobook S550CA.
The battery icon is displayed but remains at 100%(or similiar percentage), until it goes dead normally.
Then when i recharge it, it displays plugged in, charging for a few minutes before it reaches 100% again, so i dont when my laptop is about to lose power.
Any help appreciated.
