If the issue is with other applications as well, I would suggest you to boot the computer in safe mode with networking and check the status.
1.    Restart your computer if it is powered on.
2.     Tap the F8 key after your computer initially powers on.
3.     Once you see the Advanced Boot Options menu you can stop tapping.
4.     Use the up/down arrow keys to highlight your selection.
5.     Select Safe Mode with networking and press Enter.
6.     You should see drivers loading, and then please wait.
7.     You should then be at the Welcome Screen.
8.     Logon to your computer using an account with Administrator privileges.

I would suggest you to check if you are facing the problem still, if it’s working fine in safe mode with networking then revert back for further troubleshooting.
Note: Don’t forget to put the computer back to normal mode.

Windows Restore - Totally Fix All Errors including After Windows 7 upgrade IE freezes and computer has to be restarted.

Click on the Start button on the Taskbar.
Type "System Restore" (without quotes) in the Search box and hit Enter or,
Click on System Restore (when you see System Restore pop up in the list of search results).
Make sure the "Recommended restore" radio button is checked on the restore utility window.
Click on Next and follow the instructions given.

Note: There is the option on the restore utility to select "Choose a different restore point". Unless you have a specific reason to select a different date and time than what Windows recommends, just select the recommended option stated in the steps above. If you choose to select another one, follow these steps:

Click on that desired date and time, and Windows 7 will perform a scan for any affected programs in that restore point.

Once completed, click Next and follow the instructions given.

Hi all,

I am writing this because the ShareFile support people said this is a Windows permissions issue, though I'm incredulous.
I downloaded ShareFile Enterprise Sync Manager and it worked beautifully.
Then I had to uninstall and reinstall it.
When I tried to run it after reinstall, it loaded but was clearly not a clean reinstall as my login info and sync jobs were still there.
And
nothing worked.
I would try to run the sync, and nothing.
No error message, no syncing, no sign of existence in the log.
Per ShareFile support I uninstalled again, along with Adobe Air, this time also deleting temporary folders they named.
I rebooted and
reinstalled both the Sync Manager and Adobe Air. Same result - non-clean reinstall, loads but doesn't work.
When support did a screen sharing and checked Task Manager when trying to run the sync, it said the service was stopped.
When attempted to start the
service from within Task Manager, it gave the message "Unable to start service.
Operation could not be completed.
Access is denied." He tried running as Administrator.
We switched to the Administrator profile.
We verified ShareFile credentials (of which I
am administrator.) He searched for more hidden data.
Nothing changed.
It still loads but doesn't run, and in Task Manager says that Access is denied.

At this point the ShareFile person says it's not their problem, it's Microsoft's problem.
It is essential to me that this tool works.

I am running this on Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit, Service Pack 1, Dell Vostro 1014.
Any insights would be extremely welcomed.

I haven't hit all your suggestions yet, but I did download CCleaner and did some cleaning, including the registry.
But when I reinstalled, I got the same thing.

Hi,

I had a very nasty virus infection, where my computer was locked when started and I was asked to call some numbers in Ghana and Central Africa Republic to get a password to unlock it.

After running an antivirus from outside windows this message stopped appearing, but explorer.exe is not starting automatically and has to be started manually.

When infected I changed the information inside Shell for explorer.exe but when I restarted my Laptop its information was changed for something like cmd ....

Now the info inside shell stays explorer.exe, but it is not started automatically when windows is started.

a.       Logon as Administrator
b.      Click ‘Start’
c.       Type in search box – regedit find at top – right click on – Run as Administrator

e.      In right pane double click shell – value data and the entry should only be explorer.exe

I recently moved all my music on my i pod onto a folder on laptop and then used windows media player to search for the music files.

The music is now on WMP (windows media player) however some of the album covers are with wrong albums.

Is there any way to correct this??
